Dear Missionary Who Baptized Me

Dear Missionary who baptized me,

I want to take the time to thank you. You will never know how much of an impact you have made on me. Because of you, I know what true joy and happiness is. Why else would I take the time to write this? Why waste my time if I didn’t actually feel that way? Before I met you I often wondered, is there not more? You see, before I met you I was going through trials and felt like I was being punished. Why me? How is this fair? I often wondered why God would allow certain things.

But then I met YOU. Yes, you. I needed YOU. I needed who you are and I needed you in that exact moment. You knew without knowing. And by that I mean that you listened to the spirit without realizing what was to happen but because of your faith you listened and I thank you. I thank you for doing hard things. To saying goodbye to your family. To saying goodbye to your home. To dedicating all this time and love. And SO much more. Because of YOU, you have forever changed me and future generations to come. Because of YOU I know without a doubt in my heart that the happiness and joy that I feel is because I know the gospel is true. I thank YOU, because of the people I have met. I thank YOU because I believe in families that are forever. I thank you because I know we have a Heavenly Father who loves us. Because of you I know that Jesus Christ died for our sins. I thank you, because everything I have today and who I am now is because of you!

As I type all of this, I realize there are not enough words to thank you and my heart is beating out of my chest. I could cry because of the love and happiness that I feel. I am who I am because of you. Thank you for being who you are and for your faith. I needed you. I hope you realize how amazing you are. I am forever grateful.

With much Love,

Your now forever friend

I would like to dedicate this post to all those who have served a mission❤️ My husband served in Mexico and Statesman Ties sent us this awesome tie to have a special reminder. Check them out if you need a gift for a missionary or soon to be missionary. 😊 The missionary who baptized me is from California but served in Idaho. I had lost all contact with him and reunited with him many years later! His name is Elder Delgado. I would not know the blessing of the Gospel if it weren’t for him. It’s crazy to think what my life would have been like if I hadn’t met him.
