Singapore Skinny Tie
Statesman Ties Singapore Skinny Tie was designed to represent the flag of Singapore. For this tie, we used the white crescent moon and stars from the flag as the main symbols for the tie. We used a red background to highlight those symbols and then added a group of white stripes in the main part of the tie to represent the five white stars from the flag. The other white strip represents the white crescent moon from the flag. We think we created a classy tie that can be worn at any time for any occasion.
Regarding the flag specifically: “The Singapore Arms and Flag and National Anthem Rules define the flag’s composition and the symbolism of its elements: red symbolizes “universal brotherhood and equality of man”, and white, “pervading and everlasting purity and virtue”. The waxing crescent moon “represents a young nation on the ascendant”. The five stars “stand for the nation’s ideals of democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality”. During the second half of the 20th century, the star and crescent symbol came to be recognized as a symbol of Islam, and Singapore’s flag came to be seen in this context by the nation’s Muslim activists. Singapore and Nepal are the only non-Muslim nations to have a crescent moon in their national flags.” (Source, here. )
