Alabama Tie

Description

Statesman Tie’s Alabama Tie was designed to represent the flag of Alabama. The design takes elements from the Alabama flag and mixes them together with the easily recognizable shape of the state to create a tie that can be worn at any time for any occasion.

We decided to use the white cross of St. Andrew as seen on the flag itself against a crimson background with white diagonal stripes. Something simple and classy; just like the Alabama flag.

Regarding the flag specifically: “The cross of St. Andrew referred to in the law is a diagonal cross, known in vexillology as a saltire. Because the bars must be at least six inches (150 mm) wide, small representations of the Alabama flag do not meet the legal definition.” (Source, here)
