Statesman Ties PEZ Skinny Tie is inspired by PEZ candy and dispensers.
Invented in Vienna, Austria, in 1927 by Eduard Haas III, PEZ originated as a compressed peppermint breath mint marketed to adults as a smoking alternative. The name derives from “pfefferminz” (German for peppermint). Originally sold in tins, the iconic, cigarette-lighter-shaped dispenser was introduced in 1949, with character heads added in the 1950s for children.
