]]> Statesman Tie’s New York Skinny Tie was designed with elements of the New York flag in mind. The symbol from the middle of the flag is used as the logo for our New York tie. We also decided to use orange as a color for one of the stripes to tie in the flag of New York City as one of the design elements as well. The navy blue in the tie is used to represent the blue from the New York flag.

More about the symbol of the New York flag: “The State Flag depicts the Great Seal of the State of New York on a blue background. In the center of the Great Seal is a shield, which shows two ships on a river; in the background are three mountains and centered above is a golden sun in a blue sky. Above the shield is an American eagle, wings spread, atop a globe. The figures on either side of the shield represent Liberty and Justice. On a banner below is the State motto, Excelsior, which means ‘Ever Upward.'” (Source, here.)
