“The national flag of Uruguay (Pabellón Nacional) has a field of nine equal horizontal stripes alternating white and blue. The canton is white, charged with the Sun of May, from which 16 rays extend, alternating between triangular and wavy. The flag was first adopted by law on December 16, 1828, and had 19 stripes until July 11, 1830, when a new law reduced the number of stripes to nine.

The horizontal stripes on the flag represent the nine original departments of Uruguay. The Sun of May represents a new nation in the world.” (Source: here)

We used a unique turquoise color as the basis for the Uruguay tie. It make the tie look more sunny, which relates to the sun that is used in the logo, which is taken from the flag. One of our favorite ties simply because of the unique color.

“The state flag of Ukraine is a banner of two equally sized horizontal bands of blue and yellow. As a national flag, the blue and yellow bicolour has been officially used since the 1848 Spring of Nations when it was hoisted over the Lviv Rathaus. When Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union, the flag was outlawed and before 1949 there was no official state flag until adoption of the red-blue flag of the Ukrainian SSR. The blue and yellow flag was provisionally adopted for official ceremonies in September 1991 following Ukrainian independence, before finally officially being restored on 28 January 1992 by the parliament of Ukraine.” (Source: here)

“The Texas Flag Code assigns the following symbolism to the colors of the Texas flag: blue stands for loyalty, white for purity, and red for bravery. The code also states that single (lone) star “represents ALL of Texas and stands for our unity as one for God, State, and Country.” The “lone star” is, in fact, an older symbol predating the flag which was used to symbolize Texans’ solidarity in declaring independence from Mexico. It is still seen today as a symbol of Texas’ independent spirit, and gave rise to the state’s official nickname “The Lone Star State” (Source: here)

The flag of the republic of China (Taiwan) is represented as follows: “the twelve rays of the white Sun symbolize the twelve months and the twelve traditional shichen (時辰; shíchén), a traditional unit of time which corresponds to two modern hours. Sun Yat-sen added the “Red Earth” to the flag to signify the blood of the revolutionaries who sacrificed themselves in order to overthrow the Qing Dynasty and create the ROC.
