Statesman Tie’s Washington DC tie was designed to represent the flag of Washington D.C. The D.C flag consists of the three red stars above two red bars. “It is an armorial banner based on the design of the coat of arms of George Washington, first used to identify the family in the 12th century, when one of George Washington’s ancestors took possession of Washington Old Hall, County Durham, northeast England. As elements in heraldry, the stars are properly called mullets.” (Source, here.) We incorporated the three stars into the logo along with the iconic United States Capitol building. Red and white were natural color choices to use the same color elements as the flag.

Statesman Ties’ Mozambique Skinny Tie was designed to represent the flag of Mozambique. The navy background highlights the white, green and black stripes from the flag along with the AK-47/book/hoe/star symbol placed in the bottom corner of the tie. This is a tie that can be worn for many different occasions.

“The flag of Mozambique was adopted on May 1, 1983. It includes the image of an AK-47 with a bayonet attached to the barrel. It is one of three national flags among UN member states that features a firearm, along with those of Guatemala and Haiti.

Green stands for the riches of the land, the white fimbriations signify peace, black represents the African continent, yellow symbolizes the country’s minerals, and red represents the struggle for independence. The rifle stands for defense and vigilance, the open book symbolizes the importance of education, the hoe represents the country’s agriculture, and the star symbolizes Marxism and internationalism.” (Source, here.)
