Statesman Ties Ireland Striped Skinny Tie was designed to represent the most well-known symbol of Ireland as well as the national color; blue. The stripes represent the colors on the flag of Ireland.

“St. Patrick’s blue is a name applied to several shades of blue associated with Saint Patrick and Ireland. The colour blue’s association with Saint Patrick dates from the 1780s, when it was adopted as the colour of the Anglo-Irish “Order of St. Patrick”. In British usage, it refers to a sky blue used by the Order of St. Patrick, whereas in Irish usage it is often a dark, rich blue. While green is now the usual national colour of Ireland, St. Patrick’s blue is still the official colour of state. St. Patrick’s blue is still found in symbols of both the state and the island.” (Source: here)

When designing the Ireland Striped Skinny Tie, we wanted to be as nationalistic and true to the country of Ireland as possible. We conversed with a very proud Irish-American about which colors we should use and found out that a lot of people think that green is the national color when in fact, it’s not. Therefore, we used blue as the dominant color for the tie and incorporated a green shamrock in the bottom corner. We think this design honors both colors as well as the national symbol and turned out to be something that represents Ireland well.

The Ireland Striped Skinny Tie is a great gift for missionaries, businessmen, and anyone who loves Ireland. You can even add a personalized embroidered message on the back on the tie that the wearer will be sure to love! We attach each tag onto every tie.

Our high quality Ireland Striped Skinny Tie is made with 100% woven silk and measures 61″ long x 2.5″ wide.

Represent Ireland with pride by showing everyone where you’re from, where you’ve been or where you’re going.
