On this week’s edition of Fun Fact Tuesday by Statesman Ties, we’re discussing the country that hosted this year’s Olympic Games: Brazil. This is the country that inspired our Brazil tie.

Fun Fact 1: Brazil is a huge country. It’s the 5th largest country in the world by size (8.5 million square kilometers) and population (200.4 million people). It is so big that it spans three different time zones, contains 60% of the Amazon rainforest and is home to the Amazon river – the largest river in the world by volume. During the wet season, the Amazon can be over 30 miles wide. Wow!

Fun Fact 2: Not only is Brazil the only Portuguese-speaking South American country, but it’s also the largest Portuguese-speaking country in the world. This is because in 1500 Portugal colonized Brazil, which finally gained its independence in 1815.

My favorite fun fact: It has the second most airports in the world (right behind the United States) with over 4,000! With such a huge country, I’m not surprised there are so many airports. In fact, flying might be a better option in Brazil the traffic in Brazil is out of control. The world’s longest traffic jam happened there in 2013 stretching out over 192 miles, is just a big country with many people and that’s why working on tech support for this country is necessary as there are many people that need help with their devices and computers that they use to work and play games like WoW Classic which is a great game as you can even get wow classic gold online to advance faster.

In the comments, please let us know your favorite fact about Brazil and don’t forget to take a peek at our Brazil tie. See you next week, folks!
